I went to the launch of ‘The Bowery‘ last night. A new visual Arts space in Headingley, Leeds. It has a craft gallery, a lovely cafe, two upstairs galleries and a workshop space with an extensive programme of art courses for adults and children. Very exciting.
It’s run by Sandra Taberner who was inspired to do the whole project whilst in the Bowery district of New York.
There are Hannah Nunn lampshades lighting the cafe/bar, Rebecca Stoners sumptuous cushions adorning the comfy sofas in the seating area , murals up the stairs….Sandra has made cleverly made the art and craft a part of the interior. It’s lovely.
